  • The Politics of Cyber SecurityI am looking at how international cooperation on cyber security is influenced national cyber security policies.
  • Global actors and regional conflict: This project issue compares how the EU responds and interferes in neighboring conflicts in Syria, the Middle East, Ukraine, and Armenia to how governments in China, the U.S. and Russia respond to these conflicts.

  • European Union, institutional change and the Middle East. The European Union (EU) changes states. That is not only true for those countries directly involved in the process of European integration, but also for the numerous states in its neighborhood. While most of the European integration literature focuses on the Europeanization of EU member and accession states, this project offers an actor-centered approach to analyze and measure European impact where it is more unlikely to be found; in Europe´s southern neighborhood. The results are published as "The Wind of Change: European Neighborhood Policy, institutional change and domestic actors in Morocco" with VS Springer, 2016.
  • Logics of Action in the Mediterranean. I contributed to an exciting research project that was based at the Helmut Schmidt University in Hamburg, Germany. In collaboration with researchers from the University of Marburg (Germany), St. Andrews University (UK) and University of Southern Denmark, we looked beyond the traditional models of cooperation and revealed the logics of action in the Mediterranaen after the Arab Spring. This results of the project were published as the edited volume "Euro-Mediterranean Relations after the Arab Spring : Persistence in Times of Change" with Ashgate in 2013.
