WRITING

My writing includes nonfiction books, essays, and academic scholarship. Across genres, I am drawn to lives shaped by moral pressure — moments when individuals confront power, history, and responsibility.

My books blend deep archival research with immersive storytelling. Hush of the Land explores wilderness, labor, and conservation in the American West through oral history, while my current project, The Artisan, reconstructs the life of German resistance fighter using multilingual sources from archives across Europe and the United States.

Alongside book-length work, I publish essays in literary and public-facing venues on resistance, migration, memory, and belonging. My academic writing, grounded in political science, examines power, institutions, and democratic struggle, and has appeared in peer-reviewed journals and scholarly presses.

Whether writing biography, long-form nonfiction, or scholarly analysis, I aim to make complex histories legible and human — illuminating how individual lives intersect with larger political and moral worlds.
